What is Community Choice Energy? Channel Islands Energy Choice envisions locally managed electricity purchasing in our region, including Ventura County. Cities and counties can choose to create an electricity purchasing district.

On August 11th the Ventura County Board of Supervisors voted (4 to 1) to take the first step toward Community Choice Energy by participating with Santa Barbara County in a regional CCE technical study and providing $50,000 funding. Our thanks to Supervisor Steve Bennett, District 1 Supervisor Linda Parks, District 2 Supervisor Kathy Long, District 3 Supervisor John C. Zaragoza, District 5 and to all of the many Ventura County supporters and Santa Barbara County neighbors, Community Environmental Council, and World Business Academy, for your participation. Community Environmental Council made a commitment to contribute $50,000 for the CCE technical study. You can help by making a donation at http://www.cecsb.org/donate/ Please Note: Community Environmental Council (CEC) cannot accept donations, sponsorship, or fundraising from any company in the active planning or permitting phase of a utility-scale renewable energy project in Ventura, Santa Barbara, or San Luis Obispo Counties.
